1st November 2009
Windsurfing: Camber - Jurys Gap Wind Direction: SW-WSW Wind Stength: 25mph ish Surf / Sea State: white water everywhere Air Temperature: ok Sea Temperature: ok Weather: dry and windy Max Speed: Distance Covered:
Second session of the day, after some refuelling and chilling, headed to
Camber to catch the wind swing to WSW hoping for some cleaned up waves
after the onshore onslaught of winds while we were round the corner enjoyed
cross-shore direction ;-)
As forecast the wind switched and dropped a bit. Got to the beach to see
guys hanging onto 4.0m and others rigging 4.7m thinking of the forecast
drop.
Looked lighter than that to me, and Rich concurred. I talked HalfPower into
taking his bigger board to save him walking back after couple runs ....
think he was glad he did, though he did come in to get a bigger sail to go
with it not long after.
I went for 5.3m Ego on the Freewave 95, and reckon this was pretty much
spot on.
The sun was trying to break through and the sky looked really lively withy
different colour clouds streaming by and the sun glinting off the sea. The
sea itself was a maelstrom of white water .... and out the back was a place
of mystery as there was seemingly no 'out the back' today. The waves were
coming from more than one direction at the same time in places and I think
everyone got a rinsing today at some point !!
Quality day, that would have been 'all-time' if it hadn't have rained so
bloody much, as much down to the craic as the conditions.
